Despite being faced with the extremely harsh circumstances of having
lost his father & being adopted out to his married aunt Naomi Pounds Cooper,
James demonstrates a profound respect for others by the very act of
naming his own children after his adopted father, Theodore Long Cooper.
Where he got the name REYNOLDS remains a mystery.
James' 1st wife was SARAH TAYLOR, by whom he had ALEX, THEODORE, & MAUDE.
But another tragedy strikes James when Sarah died very early on. James remarried
and had more children among whom were DWIGHT & HELEN.
